UNIVERSITY WILL RELASE AN ONLINE SEMINAR!

Kidney disease seminar was a great success.

Let’s take a look behind the scenes!!

Adjunct professor at Hasanudin University (medicine faculty)

Dr. Ishikawa from Kaikoukai Josai hospital participated

in the Hassanudin Scientific Fair 2022, as a remote speaker.

This great event was successfully held

Thanks to the staff working with the participants like Dr. Ishikawa.

After two months now, we asked Dr. Ishikawa if he could give us

a Seminar Report.

He responded as usual with a splendid lines which we will show you

down below.

What is the purpose of this seminar?

What are the thoughts behind it?

If you learn from Dr. Ishikawa, who speaks passionately,

Are you sure you want to become a nephrologist? !

In Indonesia, where the average age is 40 years old (Japan is 20 years old), the kidney disease treatment should naturally be different from that in Japan.

Having said that, I read the English papers and learned that hypertension was the most frequent cause of chronic renal failure in Indonesia. Unfortunately, there is still a shortage of nephrologists, and many patients are unable to receive satisfactory medical care. In that case, one of the missions of Hasanuddin University School of Medicine should be to have young medical students play an active role as nephrologists in the future. From acute to chronic. From active treatment to palliative care. The area covered by nephrology is getting wider.

I was entrusted with the very honorable task of giving a special lecture at the Hasanuddin Scientific Fair 2022. All I can do is introduce my work and share my passion as a nephrologist. That passion leads me to the title "Current Approach of Hemodialysis Patients for Elderly Patients"

(Current status of treatment for elderly hemodialysis patients)

First, I gave an overview of kidney disease medical care in Japan. After that, we continued to introduce the work of our hospital, which mainly focuses on rehabilitation treatment.

Maintenance of arterial venous shunt in outpatient dialysis. Measures against complications as cardiovascular disease and arterial disease of the lower extremities. Also emphasized the importance of screening for malignant tumors. I also explained the medical care that Josai Hospital specializes in, such as early detection of dementia and music therapy as a preventive measure. I was a little nervous because the speech was in English, but I tried to smile as much as possible. Then, in the middle stage, I showed a video of the exercise therapy, and the video of prototype machine game therapy. As previously announced, we will take a short break here. In long lectures, Refreshing along the way is essential. Finally, in the final chapter, I presented the ethical issues of end-to-life medical care. That is the issue that I cannot avoid as a Dr. of elderly people with kidney disease. Even after becoming a doctor, I want you to continue asking questions about how to communicate better with patients. With that in mind, let's work together as passionate nephrologists! With that phrase I finished my speech with the following words.

Respectfully from my house in Gifu.

Terima kasih banyak!” (In Indonesian, it means thank you very much)

After finishing the closing greeting, you can hear the applause of many students and teachers from the screen.

It was the moment I finished my speech to an audience over 220 people. The two Muslim female staff members, Mustika and Hasliani, who were entrusted with the important task of connecting the studio and the live show, also smiled with relief. October 16, 2022, a pleasantly sunny Sunday. October 16, 2022, a pleasantly sunny Sunday. After finishing this great task, I take a little rest and I enjoyed a dinner at an Indonesian restaurant in Nagoya City. This arrangement was an idea of the staff at the corporate headquarters. While enjoying the rich flavor of avocado juice and nasi goreng, which has a similar flavor to fried rice, We chatted with Indonesian medical intern who were visiting Japan. I hope that this seminar could be useful for them. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the people of Kaikokai Headquarters and the professors of Hasanuddin University for giving me such a precious opportunity. I am working hard every day to be a role model for young people who aim to become doctors. It would be great if one day, I could cross the sea and watch the sunset over the horizon with future nephrologists in Indonesia, where it is always summer!
